MARINA

Currently Campland contains a marina of approximately 120 boasts in slips. This marina provides on water access to the bay and boat rentals. This is also a low impact facility and source of revenue to mission bay park fund.

What MBG proposes

MBG proposes to relocate the marina to the east and on the heel of the boot of De Anza Peninsula. This maintains the marina and boat use and generated revenue. This location also necessitates a protective jetty. The jetty not only provides protection from the silting of the marina but also a separated walk out overlook to the new marsh. In addition, the jetty will provide a diversion of the outfall water of Rose Creek forcing the creek, sediments and pollutants west over the marsh. This will help sustain the marsh, increase filtering of pollutants and help settle out silt reducing the amount of dredging needed in the park at large.

No boat ramp is included in MBG as there is an existing large Mission Bay Park boat ramp approximately .5 miles to southeast. Those coming to stay in guest housing bringing boats to launch would be encouraged to use that existing ramp.
