Adventure Play at De Anza Cove

 Adventure play is an element that came up during the community input process. This element is not fully defined. “Adventure” is a component of life that has been lost for many children (and adults) in our current very structured and litigious society. MBG sees this is an opportunity to provide adventurous play for adults as well as children. Adventure play is often associated with creative building with raw materials. This type of play would typically require staff when the facility is open.

Proximity to the water would naturally incline thinking of water play, however, a combination “onshore” and “offshore” facility could be considered.

MBG considers the size and location of De Anza Cove as inappropriate for motorized water vehicles and proposes this area be for swimming, paddling, floating and over the water adventure play.
